Why now?
Families are critical assets in education; family engagement enhances student academic achievement and social-emotional development. Research also shows that family-school partnerships are equally as important as other essential strategies for school improvement—from ambitious instruction to effective leaders.
Family engagement has a proven impact on reducing absenteeism, improving literacy outcomes and fostering overall student success.
Why this Hub for Family Engagement Solutions?
Our vision for Family Engagement Solutions is to transform education by centering families and caregivers as valued partners in student success. By connecting you to accessible, affordable and evidence-based solutions to your biggest school improvement, student learning and well-being challenges, we aim to strengthen family-school partnerships and communities.
Why these programs?
Evidence-based family engagement programming significantly enhances educational outcomes and fosters stronger family-school partnerships.
The programs featured on Family Engagement Solutions have been vetted by National PTA and Evidence for ESSA and have proven impacts on a range of student learning and well-being outcomes.
National PTA comprises millions of families, students, teachers, administrators and business and community leaders devoted to the educational success of children and the promotion of family engagement in schools. PTA is a registered 501(c)(3) that prides itself on being a powerful voice for all children, a relevant resource for families and communities and a strong advocate for public education. Membership in PTA is open to anyone who wants to be involved and make a different in education, health and welfare of children and youth.
Our collaboration with EvidenceforESSA.org guides districts in finding effective family engagement programs, ensuring decisions are backed by solid evidence. Evidence for ESSA is a website created by the Center for Research and Reform in Education at Johns Hopkins University that provides educators and education constituents with reliable resources and evaluations on educational programs, aligning with the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) standards.
